Bruno Ázera is a landscape photographer and licensed guide, born and raised in Praia da Vitória, on Terceira.
His work is rooted in the nine volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic that he has been exploring with a camera since 2005. As a local, he offers more than GPS coordinates to a pretty view. He takes people to the right places at the right moment, and share the food, the culture and the rhythm of island life that most visitors never get to see. His work has been published in Here Not There: 100 Unexpected Travel Destinations, a National Geographic travel book by Andrew Nelson (2024), and used in many international campaigns.
