William Patino is an award-winning landscape photographer based in Te Anau, New Zealand, and a partner guide for our New Zealand workshops, where he leads participants through some of the country’s most extraordinary and remote locations.
Patino is best known for his atmospheric images of mountains, forests, coastlines, and the ever-changing light of the natural world. His work has been published internationally, and he is widely recognized for his ability to translate complex landscapes into emotionally resonant photographs. In addition to his personal practice, Patino has taught thousands of photographers through immersive workshops, online education, and his popular YouTube channel, where he shares insights from the field.
Deeply inspired by the wilderness of Fiordland and beyond, Patino’s photography is rooted in exploration, patience, and a profound respect for nature. He is passionate about helping others slow down, see more intentionally, and connect more deeply with the landscapes they photograph.
