Torrified Naked Oats are great for adding extra depth, thickness and body to a beer, aiding head retention. Torrified Oats do not add as much creamyness that malted oats might add, so if you want the extra body without the extra creamy flavour then go for these.
The Oats have been through a heating process that has already gelatinised the gluten in the grain which means it wont glupe up your mash like porridge.
Add torrefied oats stouts to make a breakfast stout, but also try adding it to IPA or Pale Ales for enhancing the body and flavours.
Mix different grains together for a unique, experimental brew!
